Bought on Amazon in 2013 and was my first and still is my only garlic press. After 8 years of use now in 2021, it is still sturdy and still works just like new.Pros: Pretty strong, I use it to press ginger too, and sometimes things like peppercorns. Stopped using my microplane grater completely since this is so much faster and easier to both use and cleanup.Cons: When you press the garlic, some garlic gets around the edges and behind places it's not suppose to be, so it's not a 10/10 on ease of cleaning. However, since I've never used any other presses, I can't comment on whether other designs are better or worse. If you press smaller and fewer cloves, then this problem is alleviated.Not having done comparisons to other presses, I can't say whether this press is superior or not to other presses, but I can say I sure like it, it fits in my drawer nice and compactly, and it works well!

This garlic press is a breeze to use, especially as I have arthritis in my right hand. I use two hands and easily press through cleaned cloves. The hopper lifts up so it is easy to rinse out. I had a Pampered Chef press for 15 years, but found it hard to use these last years and have gotten tired of chopping garlic with my knife, as I use a fair amount. Thanks to ATK, I bought this one and am extremely happy.

This is not an inexpensive or even moderately priced garlic press but it is well worth the price. Most importantly, it is not difficult at all to squeeze garlic cloves. I did not expect it to be so easy on my hands. Secondly, it’s easy to clean. Little bits of garlic do not remain behind in the holes after a rinse. Thirdly it is study and comfortable to use. I bought this because it was recommended by Cook’s Illustrated, a source I trust, but still I was not convinced it would be as good as it is until I used it.

Read about this press on Cooks Illustrated.com. It’s the bomb dot com. Smooth press action (just be sure not to pinch your skin in between the two levers — you’ll only do it once though!) and very easy clean up. It’s stainless steel and they say it can go in the dishwasher but I prefer just to hand clean it given how easy it is to do.

I bought this because I have been mincing garlic with a knife for 10+ years and I decided that it was time to research garlic presses. I had one years ago and it was awful. I had given up. Well, after thorough research, I invested the money in buying this one for these reasons:-stainless steel (no coating to flake off the metal, and no rubber or plastic handles to break. I'm hoping this is the only press I have to buy for a very long time.)-very easy to clean-was highly recommended by kitchen gadget review sites; also had excellent user reviews on Amazon-requires minimal effort to work (the garlic goes right through, leaving almost no good garlic behind)-the hopper swings out for easy cleaning (no silly pokey things needed to clear the holes)-I can even use an unpeeled clove and it still works like a charm!I love this garlic press. It feels sturdy and has a nice weight to it. The only drawback, and a small one at that, is that I had to be careful not to pinch my hand when the handles met each other. I was able to avoid doing so after getting acquainted with it. I believe the handles need to get close together so as to push all the garlic through perhaps.Update:I've started using this with fresh ginger root and I love it even more! Obviously, ginger is more fibrous and may not press as nicely, but it squeezes out the juice and a good amount of "pulp" as well.

It is on the pricey side but I consider the extra money worth it and see this as a life long investment. Tried many different presses half the price they are all junk. This presses all the garlic through with very little garlic being wasted. And what is wasted is easily cleaned with nearly a 10 second rinse. Very little effort required to clean. Too bad in todays world you have to try dozens of products before you find one that actually works but I’m glad I found this one.

this has broken after only 6 months or so of use. Initially we thought it was the best garlic press we had ever used until one of the sidw rivets poped out a few days ago making it a very expensive ($45) piece of junk. Its sold by Amazon so not even sure how to ask for a replacement or a refund at this stage?

Bought this on a friend's recommendation.Easy to clean. Takes about half the effort to use regarding hand strength.No waste, crushes garlic so efficiently.
