Well built and they store nicely in the freezer. The channel makes easy serving and best of all, the tub does not slide around. If there was one improvement it would be to have them a tad larger as my go to ice cream recipes makes slightly more than this tub can hold. However, it didn't deter me from purchasing another tub to have 2 different flavours on the go at once.

I make ice cream, a lot. This is the perfect shape and size for me. Also the ice cream doesn't seem to go rock hard as it does in ordinary containers - must be the double wall that does it. Like it so much I bought a second one!

Now I understand why the reviews were so glowing. Yes the price and availability is a challenge, but it's really worth sticking with it, there simply is no better container. If you've spent a good amount of money on an ice cream maker, and time on using it, you owe it to yourself to get these.

This is a very handy storage container for homemade ice cream, and makes scooping balls of gelato a breeze. The only (minor) flaw is that disassembling it and putting it in the dishwasher seems to distort the shape slightly, making the lid difficult, though not impossible, to snap shut.

It's just a tupperwear container, or is it? It's double-walled and very good at protecting your ice-cream/sorbet creation! Get it out the freezer a good 20 minutes before serving and you'll have no problems in getting it out!

Me encantó. Tiene un tamaño bastante bueno, para el helado y para guardarse. Cabe en la mayoría de congeladores o en la puerta.

It was great until it broke. Wish I didn't buy four of these, as they're expensive for something that doesn't last long.Within the first month of using the strawberry colored Glide-A-Scoop Tub one end of the tub shattered on the inside. It appears the plastic gets very brittle when cold. A solid piece of plastic just broke off in one big chunk. I was using a Tovolo scoop when this happened, and I'll add that their scoop is more pointed than regular scoops so this may be more likely to happen with their scoop than with a standard circular scoop. My advice is if you buy one of these tubs to be ultra careful when scooping hard ice cream since the inner shell is brittle and can apparently shatter very easily. Also, use a standard circular ice cream scoop which encourages scraping, not the Tovolo scoop.Other than the way too brittle plastic, I really like the design of the tub. The long shape makes it easy to get a nice scoop out with one sweep and the ice cream seems to keep well. They also stack well and fit in the freezer well. If the plastic was better it would have a five star, but since I doubt they will last long I'm highly disappointed.I tried contacting the company, but have not heard back.

I was only able to use this once before it broke on me. I put my homemade ice cream in here which froze pretty solid, the Sumo ice cream scoop hit the bottom of it and caused the bottom to crack. I'm pretty disappointed because a more flexible plastic would have been so much better, this product is way too expensive for what it is. So, now I'm stuck "defrosting" my ice cream container in a sink of water so i can use the scoop to get around.I should have bought the smaller 1/2 pint size containers that are made of a softer plastic instead.

This container holds a lot of ice cream without taking up a lot of space in the freezer. The design makes scooping ice cream out of it easy without waste in corners like you get with disposable cartons. The top also seals nicely to keep the ice cream from getting freezer burn.We put ours in the dishwasher, which Tovolo says you can do. I saw conflicting reviews about it being difficult to put back together. The problem with ours is that the outer layer bends in a little but on the sides after we washed it in the dishwasher. It can then be a pain to get the inner tub locked in place because you have to pull out on the 2 sides of the outer container. In hindsight I would only put the lid and inner layer in the dishwasher and hand wash the thinner outer container.

***EDITED, yet again! Yup, I dropped it again—and this time the red inner container cracked THROUGH—so now I can NOT use it because it will leak. It’s a good product but you can NOT drop it! Easier said than done and I’m really not a clutz lol!**EDIT: 3 weeks later: don’t drop it! I read about others who dropped it an it broke. I thought well duh don’t drop it. Well, I accidentally dropped it and...it broke! The plastic shattered in 2 places. Still usable but not perfect.** When you're quarantined, your priorities get shuffled. Homemade ice cream is now a MUST! So I wanted a good quality container to store it in. Had been using a round glass pyrex 1 quart bowl. Hard to scoop from that. THIS is great because you can take a long swipe and roll out a nice scoop. So the quality seems good so far. Hard to imagine it cracking like others have mentioned. Unless maybe you have a really sharp or pointed scoop? I had considered another company model which included a plastic scoop but I didn't need that. THE LID: people were making a big deal about the lid not snapping on. It does snap on. It's not quite the same or as tight as a tupperware-type seal, but it gets the job done. From other reviews, I expected to have problems with the lid, but no. One thing to note is that it goes one way and not the other. The lid has a lip on one end, which needs to matchup with the dip on the end of the container. Look closely to make sure you're putting it on the right way. My only sadness is that the "strawberry sorbet" color is more pink than red. Online it looks pretty basic firetruck red. In person, it's more tropical-pink. Enjoy your ice cream, folks!!

I splurged, purchased an ice cream maker, and of course, needed the accessories! Reviews of this seemed to make sense, so I bought it, and it slides into cracks and “dead space” in my small freezer well. The lid functions well. And, honestly, I liked the color! I have no dishwasher, and had no trouble washing it by hand.

Made our ice cream, put it in our new Tovolo containers then into the freezer. About 30 minutes later while cleaning up the kitchen I heard a pop sound but could not identify from where. Several hours later and with great excitement to try our first batch of ice cream, I pulled out the containers only to find one had broken at the end with the recess for the lid. I would love to give this product 5 stars because they are great for scooping. I will be looking for a replacement! Hopefully this is only a fluke.

This tub is really good for keeping my homemade ice cream frozen and not iced over. The cover fits tightly in saving me from iced over ice cream or too hard ice cream which usually happens in a few days when I rig my bread pan with plastic wrap and foil. lol. I love the ease of cleaning up too. The material of it I also love. It just makes it feel less toxic. I have had the container on the door of my freezer, so it gets a lot of traffic and temp changes but the ice cream still holds well. Definitely a good buy for me. Holds all of my 1.5 qt ice cream maker.I just hated that this order was transferred to USPS and the first delivery was "delivered" but I never got it. Thank goodness amazon was kind enough to resend me another order.

This was a waste simply because once you churn homemade ice cream, it needs to be frozen (from soft serve texture to "hard") as quickly as possible to keep it from forming ice crystals. The insulated structure of this container stops it from doing that and so it freezes very hard and noticably "icey".I've used the exact same recipe in a recycled ice cream paper carton and in a metal loaf pan with much better results (totally creamy) so I know it's this container.I thought from the reviews that the insulation layer wouldn't be so impactful on the texture but it is. If you want professional level texture, avoid this container and all of the ones like it. Get paper or metal. Also, because the ice cream freezes so hard, you can't even get an ice cream scoop through it. When straining to do this, I noticed the scoop was also scraping plastic off of the container. So I would not say it's particularly sturdy either.

It does its job very well. I usually make ice cream in my Cuisinart 1.5 qt ice cream maker and transfer it to this tub right away. I put it in the freezer for a couple of hours and the consistency goes from soft serve to hard ice cream. Before buying this I was using a regular glass storage container and while the ice cream did firm up, the consistency in the Tovolo is more like store bought ice cream (I felt that in the glass container it was a little...grainier.)The long size makes it easy to store. It can go in the freezer door, or it can easily tuck into any part of the freezer without taking up too much real estate.

I bought this at the end of summer last year. The weather has warmed up so over the weekend I made my first batch of ice cream of 2021. At first, I loved this container and how easy it is to scoop ice cream because of the shape. However, it is VERY brittle when cold. My ice cream was stored on the bottom shelf of my freezer (side by side fridge/freezer). I was taking something out of the freezer and the ice cream container fell (from the first shelf so it was not a far fall) and the lid and part of the side of the container shattered and is completely unusable! So this product didn’t even last long enough to make it through one batch of ice cream. What a waste of plastic and money.
