I have gone through 3 salad spinners in the last 8 years. One was a pretty cheap one from a grocery store, the other 2 were pretty good brands. All of which were made of 100% Plastic. 2 had broken with cracks by force simply by trying to get it to spin faster... maybe I'm expecting too much speed from those. This salad spinner is beatiful! The metal bowl is heavy! The crank handle is very smooth during operation and it spins very fast! Other spinners I've used tend to shake and get really loud and make snapping sounds when you try to over spin it. (Oops!) this spinner is so smooth you don't have an urge to try to spin the crap out of it. It works so smoothly and spins so fast i don't have to try to over spin! Ive used it only once on some spinach i needed to clean since my last one got recycled and i needed to get it washed before it got slimy. The spinach was nice and dry! The lid is very nice and sturdy. I love that i can take it apart for cleaning! I dont care about the higher price point. You do get what you pay for and i feel i got my money's worth! Very excited to use this spinner in the future.... I must add that I do NOT like cleaning greens. I find it tedious... and this makes it pleasant! Love it!! I must add that I was pleasantly surprised on the size of the bowl. It's pretty big. Pictures on amazon dont show how large it is and i find it quite large enough! Also, the plastic basket that spins is pretty heavy duty... most spin baskets are kind of flimsy... not this one!! Can I give this 10 stars? Very happy with this spinner!!

I am totally fine with paying a lot of money for a quality product, but it is very hard to justify the price of this salad spinner. First of all, this is made in China. If I'm paying well over $100 for a German-engineered salad spinner, it could at least be made in Germany. The manufacturer outsources to China to save money, but the savings aren't passed on to you here.The inner basket is cheap plastic. There's nothing premium about it. It's the exact same type of basket you'd find in a cheap Walmart salad spinner. It's not even perfectly molded or cut - there are small slivers of plastic that stick out into the slits. For this much money, why not make this a really special salad spinner and make the basket out of metal?The top of the lid is glass, but there's a layer of plastic right underneath it, so what's the point of it being glass?The spinner action is easy to operate and it spins very smoothly. There's not a whole lot of point to the "brake" button because you can just slow the spinner down with the spinner knob just as easily.Most salad spinners are hideously ugly. What you're really paying for with this one is its aesthetics. It's the nicest-looking salad spinner I've ever seen, and functionally it's just fine. It does its job well, but the price is just way too much considering it's made in China and the interior parts are cheap plastic.If you have a beautiful kitchen, money is no object and you only want the most attractive kitchen tools, then this is the obvious choice.

The handle also broke off of mine ... after perhaps a dozen uses. I can't recommend it.It seems like a universal experience.----------I love this salad spinner. I've come to realize that Rosle's version of everything is so much better than the other versions out there. After trying this salad spinner, I was hooked. The spin almost felt like it was motorized - so smooth and easy. I was so impressed and happy, I subsequently bought the Rosle pull-string chopper and my mind was blown at how much better it was than the version I already had. I'm eyeing the Rosle garlic press now ... I'm happy with my current Oxo garlic press, but I'm starting to realize that I have no idea what I'm missing when it comes to this brand.

I am a fan of the Zyliss salad spinners, which are great. But this is better. The #1 winning feature is that for the rare occasions that you need to clean it, you actually can take the top apart easily. Also, the metal bowl solves a problem that acrylic tends to craze and cloudy over time, and can crack. This is metal, so no BPA, no cracks. The top is easy to use, and there's a brake you activate by pressing on an intrusion. Really no downsides vs the excellent Zyliss, other than the cost. Also, it's smaller than the large Zyliss.
